I don’t get many chances to go to the movies, either because I paid my bills and money is tight or I had no way of getting there (didn’t have a car). However that doesn’t stop me from listing movies I really want to see, that way I at least know what I would want to see when I get there.

While I have a longer list with comedy and action movies I want to see, they usually dominate my list, but this year, and early next year, there are a few promising horror movies that I’m keeping an eye on.

-Alien: Covenant, I have been waiting for this one. I loved Prometheus, I loved watching them make those seemingly wonderful discoveries only for it to turn into a nightmare for everyone. Now with this movie I’m excited to see the further evolution of what the xenomorph started as, to what we know it as today. Thankfully I don’t have to wait long since it’ll be out in just a few days.

-It Comes at Night. So far A24 hasn’t steered me wrong as far as horror movies. I loved The Witch, Tusk, and Life After Beth. Under the Skin, The Green Room, and Enemy are on my must watch list when I have a chance to sit and watch uninterrupted. This movie, looks like something I could watch again and again and still get, at the very least, creeped out.

-IT. Honestly who isn’t waiting for this movie? The tv movie scared me enough to have a strong dislike of clowns, especially since I saw that movie when I was about 6 years old. By the age of 10, when I watched IT again I realized it was a book. Finally a few years ago I read the book and couldn’t sleep very well for a few nights. With the remake of IT and the fact that visual storytelling has gotten better, I’m really excited to have the piss scared out of me.

-Jeepers Creepers 3. It’s been a while since I’ve watched the first two movies but I do remember being freaked out by the monster that stalked the people it wanted to eats scaring them to smell the fear it loves so much. The third one is set to take place between the first and second, I’m guessing the ending will be similar to the first…not a happy one.

-The Dark Tower. Okay so this one might not count as a straight up horror movie but still, it’s The Dark Tower. Elements of fantasy and impending doom that could affect more than just our world.

-Winchester. This movie isn’t set to come out until 2018 but I love supernatural period pieces, and setting a movie for the Winchester House just sounds perfect. Plus Helen Mirren!

So those are horror movies I really want to see. But there are a few that are on a similar list. Ones that I’m not particularly looking forward to but if I end up in a group of friends or family that want to see it then I’ll see it.

-Wish Upon, this one look interesting. A similar troupe of ‘be careful what you wish for’ that I’m seen in shows like Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark and of course the well known story The Monkey’s Paw. I won’t be upset about seeing it but it’s not at the top of the list either.

-The Mummy. I love 1932’s The Mummy with Boris Karloff. I love the 1999 version of The Mummy. Something about this one though just doesn’t make me excited to see it. I see it listed under horror but nothing from the trailers strikes me as scary. Edge of my seat action, yeah, but shrinking into my seat scary, no.

-Annabelle Creation. I saw the first one with my family, my grandma made fun of it. It was an okay movie but now with Creation, what else is there? We already saw how the doll became possessed what else needs to be created? Or is it taking place after the the first Annabelle?
