I can’t think of a time when I didn’t have a pet, or at least a time when my family didn’t have an animal in the house.
Today I have 4 pets. 3 cats: Luna, Rain, and Ninja, and a fish name Ghost.
Luna is the oldest and technically belongs to my fiancé. While like most cats she sleeps all day she also enjoys following me into the bathroom and hanging out on my clothes while I shower. Probably because I take really hot showers and she loves the warmth. The only time she really bothers anyone is when she starts to lay down on you, she kneeds her paws into her stomach but it feels like she’s punching you.
Rain is second oldest. We got her from a friend of ours and generally acts like a little shit. If a glass breaks, it’s her. Someone is running around jumping on everything, it’s her. She’s torn open cat food bags and smashed open the treats container. But she’s a really good conversationalist, I say ‘hi’ and she meows back. She also has no problem telling you what you did wrong or if you need to clean the litter box. She also likes to lay on anyone chest while you’re trying to sleep or do sit ups.
The youngest is Ninja. She was a surprise addition. She walked into our apartment, ate some food and laid out on the couch next to me. After a few years of her living with my parents and birthing 4 kittens. She’s back with us and is the best goddamn cuddler I’ve ever known. We even see 3 of her 4 kittens every now and again. My grandparents kept one, Smeagol, and my parents kept the twins Narcissa and Bellatrix.
Last, smallest, but certainly the most demanding, our beta fish Ghost. He is very energetic but not as aggressive as some of the other betas I’ve known. He just really likes attention, and his favorite larger being happens to be Ninja. She’ll sit in front of his tank and watch him swim, he ends up charging the glass to get her to play. How do I know he’s playing and not just scared? He doesn’t flare his gills at her.
I love all these little guys, well girls and guy. Whatever the point it that seeing these guys are the best when I’m feeling happy or sad or anytime.
