I’m or normally someone who defines their year by a mantra or a saying, but maybe it’s time to change it up and see if it does anything for me.
For the last few weeks I listened to, but mostly read, a lot of articles and interviews on and about life. There were some really nice quotes that stirred my motivation in writing, working out, and just moving towards making the life that I want to live. A lot of comics from zenpencils, poetry from Maya Angelou, some lectures online from various celebrities and philosophers and educationalists, and characters from Marvel (comics and MCU).
But you know what, while I love a lot of these quotes and a lot of these lectures and talks help kindle that fire for life I’ve been neglecting in the end it’s just up to me to keep it going. I’ll probably have a few written down here and there to give me a little pick-me-up when things get tough. I’ll probably refer back to them time and again when I need it but really, I just have to keep keep in mind that while those quotes can give me a push, I’m the only one that can keep moving.
Of course I’ll share some favorites with you, like I said I will probably have some of these written down somewhere.
The ‘Litany Against Fear’ from Dune by Frank Herbert
“Forward, always. Always forward.” -Pops, Luke Cage
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” -Walt Disney
“Listen. Smile. Agree. Then do whatever the fuck you were gonna do anyway.” -RDJ
“Knowing it’s real means you gotta make a decision. One, keep denying it. Or two, do something about it.” -Jessica Jones
“If you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never some up with anything original.” -Ken Robinson
Last one of my favorite poems written and recited by Maya Angelou.
