Have you ever attempted or heard of a Book Challenge? Made a new year’s resolution to read more then list every single book that comes to mind only to look at your list and think, ‘uh maybe later.’? I did, this year I’ve pared it down to one a month.
Personally reading has always been one of my absolutely favorite things to do when growing up. My book shelf was crammed with books that helped me learn to read before starting school. A hallway closet was also filled with other books that I hoped to read on day when I was older.
Now that I am older it’s hard it can be to keep up with reading due to other responsibilities. Spare time doesn’t always exist and even when you have you just want to let your mind go blank and watch a movie or something on TV.
Anyway, as I had said in my previous post I am going to be reading 1 book every month. I did find a Reading Challenge that I liked and just chose 12 off the list instead of doing the whole thing.
I went through my list of books I either haven’t read, or read a very long time ago but would like to read them again and picked out ones that fit. So in no particular order, with the exception of the first book, here is my 2017 reading list:
- Alice in Wonderland*
- The Left Hand of Darkness
- The Brother Karamazov
- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
- AKIRA vol 1
- Return of the King
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- Jurassic Park
- Animal Farm (again)
- Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
- Necronomicon: The Best Short Stories by H.P. Lovecraft
- The Poems of Emily Dickinson
I have a larger list posted from last year, of course it has since expanded, but these are the ones I have for this year.
One a month. I’ll probably pick a short one for next month since it’s a short month.
Do you have a reading list for this year? Are you doing a reading challenge or just reading when the mood strikes you?
*I just finished this one. Yay!
